go braves, chop on

Many people don’t believe me when I say I’m a Braves fan, or at least an authentic one. Since I live close to the stadium and wear their baseball cap at any appropriate time, some people think I just think their merch is cute and that it’s cool to live so close. Well I am a fan because of both of those things, but I also am a fan for several other reasons. I was running through the list of why I love my Braves boys and I thought it would be fitting to share them here. & here’s why. I admit that me being a baseball fan feels a bit off brand for AG The Look. Like I so agree. But here’s why I make the daily, depressing [although they do stay consistent with getting our hopes up and then messing up at the end … consistency is important!] decision to be an Atlanta sports fan:

The first ever field trip I could remember was when I was in preschool and all the dads took us to the dugouts at Turner Field. Then we ate donuts while sitting where the baseball players sat; I felt like the coolest ever.

There was a Bobby Cox poster in my basement that I remember looking at while I danced around practicing my advanced seven year old self’s choreography.

I thought Chipper Jones was such a fun name.

Every summer I begged my mama for dip n dots at the Braves games & that was the only place she let me have them.

From 3rd-12th grade I was able to sing the National Anthem on the field with the choirs I was in, so I got to see “back stage” and that felt fancy. This also meant I was able to sing on both Turner Field as well as Truist Park which is pretty sick. This photo was from the last time I sang there!

I wear Swanson’s jersey because he plays so well*!

I genuinely find baseball an entertaining sport and getting the score updates from my MLB app is quite the experience. I would like to thank my fellow Braves fan, Scout, for that recommendation … so much better googling the score!

If I ever see anyone wearing a jersey or tee or cap I always say, “Go Braves, Chop On!” and I just feel like it’s a little bit of home. There’s actually a good bit of Braves fans at Liberty which is fun!

Back when Jason Heywerd was a Braves boy, he came to my school to talk about Jesus and it was so hype.

The Battery has my favorite ice cream in the whole wide world [insert heart eyes here] and has a concert venue called the Roxy that hosts fantastic artists!

Nose bleed seats are cheap as freak.

It’s also fun to drive by the stadium all the time. It’s nostalgic. So there you go! Go Braves! Chop on! Let’s watch a game together!
